The Book of Galatians is very practical and rich in theology. Galatians, perhaps one of the Apostle Paul's most important writings, is a vigorous and uncompromising defense of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Galatians serves as the Manifesto of Christian Liberty against anyone who denies the complete sufficiency of the blood-shed, atoning, substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross. This essential six chapter book clarifies and passionately proclaims that a person is not justified (made righteous) by being good (keeping the Law), but by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Justification by faith alone is the foundation of Christianity, distinguishing it from all other religions of the world! Galatians not only establishes that justification is apart from good works, it teaches that sanctification (living for God after one has been saved) is also by faith — not by keeping the law (Gal. 3:3).
