Glocal (Wed PM)

On Wednesday nights at 5:30 pm, students gather for intense theological training.  Glocal is not "just another Bible study."  It is theological training aimed at developing a heart for missions and equipping students to share the Gospel globally and locally.  Glocal operates on a seven year plan that provides our students with a thorough understanding of the Gospel, enables them to defend it, and grounds them in the key doctrines of our Christian faith.

Outreach

Part of our Glocal training is REACH, our Small Groups' outreach program.  Small Groups are divided into four groups, and each group is assigned one week of the month to visit the guests that attended on the previous Sunday.  Not all learning can take place in a classroom, so we push our students to be intentional about welcoming our guests and sharing the Gospel.

“Why am I here? What’s wrong with the World? Is anything being done about it? Where did I come from? Where am I going?”

This course will equip our students with a firm conviction about how the Bible answers these questions.  Students will learn the whole story of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. They will see how the Old Testament is not just a collection of old stories but THE story of how God made and kept His great promise to restore our world in spite of mankind’s rebellion. They will discover that Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s great promise.  In short, they will see the Mission of God as revealed in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. This basic understanding of the message of the Bible is foundational for every believer.

“What do you understand it takes for a person to go to Heaven?”

The goal of this course is to equip students with a thorough biblical answer to this question by looking at the role of man and God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) in salvation. From starting conversations to explaining the content of the Gospel, students will be well equipped to share the gospel in any context.

“Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” 2 Cor. 5:18

This course will teach students the biblical foundations that make missions the top priority of our lives as we join God in reconciling the world to Himself.  Throughout the course we will also examine the lives and strategies of some great missionaries as well as develop a sober perspective of the task that remains. The world awaits our witness!

“… but set apart the Messiah as Lord in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.”  1 Peter 3:15

It is essential as we grow and mature in Christ to be able to articulate and defend our faith.  People ask hard questions about our faith that demand and deserve an answer.  In this course, students will be pushed to think hard about the claims of Christianity and give evidence from reason and Scripture.

“Jesus said ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6

There is a common belief in our culture that all religions lead to God.  Is this true?  Will Buddhism and Islam lead us to the same God that Christianity proclaims?  In this course, students will study the claims of other religions in contrast to Christianity.  In doing so, our students will discover the fundamental differences between Jesus and other gods, while preparing themselves to share the gospel with those who serve other gods.

DOCTRINES
“Clear theology giving birth to strong missiology.”

We believe that nothing encourages believers to share the gospel like knowing their God.  Therefore, students will dig deeply into Christian doctrines for three years.  By discovering what the Bible teaches about God, Man, Sin, Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, and the Last Things, our students will develop a rich understanding of who God is and His purposes and plans for our world and our lives.
