Just like the song at the beginning of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” says: “Christmas time is here…” It may be the most special time of the entire year. Let’s look a little closer into Charlie Brown’s world to see just what is truly special to us at Christmas.
The Bible tells us "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord" (Psalm 127:3).

There's no doubt about it: back to school time is just around the corner...or maybe it's already here. Some kids have already begun there new grades and tracks, plus those on a traditional calendar will all be starting by the end of next month. This is a time of great anticipation and excitement. Our Elementary Ministry is ready to play a big part in this season as we show kids that back to school is cool in Creek Kids.

Hey Parents! I recently did something with our 3rd-4th grade girls Upward basketball team to illustrate the truth of Luke 6:43-45. We had an orange and a large clear cup. Each girl had a turn squeezing the orange with all their strength. At the end of this task, we had about a quarter cup of juice and 6 sets of sticky fingers. The only juice in the cup was orange juice. No apple juice; no grape juice; no tomato juice. Under the intense pressure of squeezing, what was inside the orange had no choice but to come out just as it was.
2012 was another blessed year in Creek Kids Elmentary Ministry. Here's looking forward to an even better year in 2013!

"Faster, higher, stronger." That is the Olympic motto. Like many of you, I am enjoying watching the Olympics with my kids. We look forward to seeing the variety of sporting events and the many countries represented. No matter the sport, all of these athletes are striving for the same goal: Olympic gold. This got me to thinking about the goals we may strive for as Christian parents.
It has been said that the foundation for parenting is marriage. There is no better way to show our children love than to express and model it to our spouse.

It' "March Madness" time! The brackets are being filled out and people are getting ready to cheer on their favorite college team. While this is a time of great excitement, it can also be a time where we let our emotions and fan loyalties lead us to act in a sinful manner. This is something I refer to as "March Badness."
Do you love your children? Of course you do! A better question might be “Do your children know that you love them?” As Christian parents, we must love our children and let them know it.

One of my favorite things to do in ministry is to get questions from kids. Most of their questions are about God, the Bible, and creation. I frequently find myself saying "That's a really good question" after most of their questions!

Each year many parents, especially those with small children, face the dilemma of what to do with Halloween. Many Christians wrestle with celebrating this holiday because of its presumed connections with the occult. However, since it's such a popular holiday in our culture, there is also great pressure to conform. In order to decide the best way to respond to Halloween, it's important to examine the facts alongside some biblical principles.
Let's face it, sometimes it's a real challenge to get the whole family up and out the door on Sunday mornings.
