Worship Pastor Affirmation

Worship Pastor Affirmation

by Pastoral Body on December 19, 2021

On Sunday, December 19th, we held a Family Meeting at Noon in the Worship Center. Our focus for this time together was the presentation, calling, and affirmation of Mark Celoria to serve as Worship Pastor at Richland Creek.  Specifically, Mark will serve on the Pastoral Body, providing oversight of our Worship and Production Ministries.

We are excited to share that Mark was affirmed by 99.5% approval from those members who voted. Praise the Lord for the faithfulness and unity of the body of Christ!

Below you can view a video from Pastor Mike Powers welcoming Mark to our church family, as well as Mark’s bio.  Over the next few weeks, take time to welcome his family (his wife, Tangie, and daughters, Abigail and Isabelle), encourage them, and pray for them as they begin to serve on the Pastoral Body and lead our Worship Ministries in January.

Mark grew up singing. Even as a young man, he traveled around the country with his family singing in thousands of conferences, revivals, and concerts. When he was sixteen years old he committed his life to follow Jesus and shortly after felt led by the Holy Spirit to pursue vocational music ministry. He went to college, where he met his wonderful wife Tangie, and after college, they attended seminary (he has church music degrees at the bachelor’s and master’s levels). For the past twenty years, Mark has served local churches by leading worship ministries in Mississippi, Arizona, Texas, and North Carolina. From 2016 until earlier this year, Mark was Worship Pastor at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh.

A major reason we were drawn to Mark is his passion for pastoral ministry. Mark is not content to simply lead a congregation to sing; he wants to develop disciples through relationships and shepherding. We believe Mark has the talent, experience, ability, and passion to lead our worship ministries for years to come, as well as the humility, kindness, and godliness to be a vital and contributing part of our Pastoral Body.
