What does the Bible say about a Christlike life? How does the Holy Spirit empower me to honor Christ in the hectic details of my busy schedule and in the quiet moments of contemplation and prayer?
Paul answers those questions and more when he uses an analogy (that he borrowed from Jesus) to describe the qualities of godliness as fruit that grows on a tree — specifically, a tree that is nourished by the Holy Spirit.
Starting this Sunday in Creek Life Groups, we're taking 12 weeks to examine the fruit of the Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, with hope and faith thrown in for good measure. Each week, we'll examine a different text of Scripture that helps us understand fruitfulness and learn what it takes to live a fruitful life. We're calling the study Bearing Fruit for God.
